Chatty Maps, a New Interactive Map Project that Lets You Listen to City Streets

Chatty Maps is an interesting project from data company Goodcitylife which maps out field recordings, public sounds and other audio to their location of recording in order to create the "first urban sound dictionary."

We propose the first urban sound dictionary and compare it to the one produced by collating insights from the literature: ours is experimentally more valid (if correlated with official noise pollution levels) and offers wider geographic coverage.

Check out the interactive map to learn more or to listen your way around the City.
