Vintage Vacation Photographs Show What the City Looked Like in 1980

Dutch vacationer Ed Sijmons first visited New York City with his wife back in 1980 and snapped all of these amazing vintage photos.

Over their two-week trip, Sijmons took hundreds of photographs with an Olympus Trip 35 camera (and recently posted them on Flickr) -- back then, they were probably nothing more than vacation snapshots only special to Ed and Louise, but 35 years later, the patina of time has drenched each one in New York nostalgia.

Sijmons and his wife plant ot revisit the City in the summer of 2016, exactly 36 years after the visit captured in these photographs.
