Vintage Film Shows Luxurious Travelers at La Guardia Airport in the 1940s

Our friends over at Bowery Boogie recently found this great vintage film from the 1940s showing the luxurious check-in process of the (then) state-of-the-art La Guardia airport.

Note how everyone in the shot is dressed to the nines. High society. To afford a plane ticket in the 1940s, you had to be. A flight from New York to Kansas City around this time would cost approximately $52, or $440 in today’s dollars.
