New York Times Publishes Treasure Trove of Recently Discovered 1978 NYC Parks Photos

The New York Times recently acquired a collection of 2,924 slides that had been stored in an old office, untouched, for four decades. Originally captured as part of an NYC Parks Department experiment to "wander the city and make pictures of the parks and people in them", these photographs show an entirely different New York City than we know today.
