Bronx's Carnitas El Atoradero is a well-reviewed Mexican home-style cooking restaurant and a borough legend. Once operating out of a small South Bronx space, you can now find Carnitas El Atoradero at the Vendy Plaza and soon in Prospect Heights.
Last we heard from Carnitas El Atoradero, they were serving up delicious Castillas en Salsa Verde tacos at the 10th Annual Vendy Awards.
Lina Chavez, the owner of Carnitas El Atoradero, is no stranger to hard work. After running a bodega in the Bronx for ten years and cooking some of New York's best carnitas in that bodega for two years, she's opened a standalone restaurant and runs both businesses, side-by-side, seven days a week.
