This great vintage photograph from 1907 shows the intersection of 23rd Street and Madison Avenue, as seen from the base of the Flatiron Building. You can see Madison Square park with snow on the ground in the dead of winter, several horse-drawn carriages and well-dressed pedestrians, and the old Metropolitan Life Insurance Building.
