Opened to the public in 1897, the General Grant National Memorial in Morningside Heights is the largest mausoleum in North America, housing President Ulysses Simpson Grant and his wife, Julia. In this great vintage photograph from 1909, see Grant's Tomb from the Husdon River, along with hundreds of people lining the hillside for some sort of celebration. Check out the specimen page on the Library of Congress Digital Archives for more info.
