Vintage Photograph Shows a Snow Covered 23rd Street and Flatiron Building Circa 1905

Photo: Imgur

The Flatiron Building opened in 1902 and is one of the most significant architectural wonders in New York City.

In this vintage photograph from 1905, just 3 years after its opening, we are looking East down 23rd Street towards a towering Flatiron Building, with a snow covered street with horse drawn carriages and trollies lined up on the side. For comparison, here is a Google Streetview of the same shot 111 years later.

This photo is in the public domain in the United States. This applies to U.S. works where the copyright has expired, often because its first publication occurred prior to January 1, 1923. See this page for further explanation.
