Check Out This Vintage Photograph of Lower Manhattan Marine Terminals and West Street Circa 1905

This amazing vintage photograph shows West Street along the Hudson River, looking North from Cortland Street at the New York Marine Terminals and boathouses that lines the docks at that time. None of this exists anymore, except for the West highway which evolved from West Street.

Fast forward to present day, and the entire left side of this photo is now Battery Park City (built upon landfill from original World Trade Center) and the WTC complex including 1 World Trade center, replacing what is seen on the right side of the photograph. Here is a Google Street View of what an approximate view looks like today.

Check out the Library of Congress specimen page for more info on the photograph.
