This incredible photo of Times Square digitally combines 30 photographs captured over the past 100 years into one image. The vintage photos were colorized by expert Jordan J. Lloyd, with composition by Carles Marsal, and modern photography by Limor Garfinkle.
Created for Retronaut’s New York exhibition last year on 5th avenue, this gigantic wall sized piece is a celebration of early panoramic photographs of America’s premiere city. A month’s work of compositing, research and colorization to create a stunning 6ft high display that celebrates 100 years of Times square in 30 photographs combining multiple views looking north and south over the span of 116 years; all seamlessly blended together and colour reconstructed into a single image.
