Public Service Announcement: Taxi Service Refusal is Against the Law

This helpful little PSA from the NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission explains that there is no reason for a taxi to refuse your service, as long as you are headed within the 5 boroughs, Westchester, Nassau country, or Newark Airport.

The goal of this Public Service Announcement is to raise awareness of passengers’ rights with respect to service refusal, and it visually portrays examples of certain refusal types, while encouraging viewers to report any instances of service refusal they may experience. New York City law provides that medallion taxicabs and Boro Taxis must transport ALL passengers to any mandatory destinations.

If you want stop cabbies from doing this, simply snap a photo of their license plate, medallion or taxi license if you can see it and file a complaint!
