Macaron Meets Donut for NYC's Latest Bakery Mashup: the Macaronut

Move over everything donut! Genius pastry chef Francois Payard recently created the newest mashup that will surely take the City by storm: the Macaronut.

With a mix of the French macaron and the American donut, Payard has created a colorful treat that we’re sure people will be lining up for. The first flavor to be introduced is strawberries and cream, which is likely as delicious as it is photogenic.

Payard created this beautiful, edible treat for the food “holiday” Macaron Day which this year is on Sunday, March 20th. Grab a macaronut at any of Payard’s multiple New York locations starting then.
