How Hudson Yards Will Keep Trees Thriving With the Heat From the Trains Below

Hudson Yards is a massive mixed-use development project in Hells Kitchen. Covering an area of 4 Streets and 2 Avenues, the yards will sit directly on top of the existing 20 train tracks feeding into Penn Station, generating a ton of heat.

The developers realized early on that this heat would be problematic to the trees and plant life they want to place in the plazas, so they came up with a clever solution to make it all work.
