Here's How the Artisan Ice Cream Makers at Brooklyn's Van Leeuwen Do Their Thing

Van Leeuwen's artisanal ice cream is one the best in New York City. In this interesting video in the Eat Seeker series from our friends at Thrillist, see how founder Ben Van Leeuwen started up the company, and how their ice cream is much different than others.

Ben Van Leeuwen got his start on Good Humor truck. He sold strawberry shortcake bars and chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches to the masses. But he wasn’t satisfied. He wanted to be serving the highest quality product he possibly could with zero stabilizers and real cookie crumbles, jams, and brittles. So he launched Van Leeuwen and set out to create ice cream so delicious that it could satisfy anyone and everyone’s cravings, even those who are vegan.
