David Villa Scores the First Goal in New York City Football Club History

Spanish-transplant David Villa is the striker for New York’s shiny new Major League Soccer team, the New York City Football Club (NYCFC). The team played their first pre-season friendly against the Scottish St. Mirren yesterday, winning 2-0 all while looking, well, like a new team. This not-so-spectacular goal by Villa is historic though, being as it was the very first goal in the history of NYCFC. Let’s hope there are many more to come.
