In last week's 2-1 victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps, striker David Villa managed to get wide open on an Andrea Pirlo corner kick to score with a rocket shot to the bottom left corner of the goal.

The win was NYCFC's first home win, placing their overall record at 2-4-3.
