Cutaway America: See New York City's Landmarks as You've Never Seen Them Before

The team at Angie's List recently created these great renderings of New York City landmarks, shown in a way you've never seen them before. They found the detailed plans of the Statue of Liberty, Radio City Music Hall, and Lower Manhattan cross-river tunnel network and made a cross-section of them, allowing us to do a side-by-side comparison with the original. Check it out below to play with the comparison tool we built and see the cross-sections for yourself.

When you open up our most famous buildings, they prove to be more than just a pretty face. And we got so curious about the ones we’re used to seeing from the outside, we decided to do just that: open them up.
