A Quantified Approach to Determining the Best Neighborhoods in New York City

Data visualization site Very Small Array recently took on the task of ranking every New York City neighborhood based on 5 criteria:

  • 27% Housing costs
  • 27% Walkability
  • 27% Commute
  • 9% Open Space
  • 9% Crime

Of course, there are a million attributes to what makes a neighborhood great for you. For me, bodega density would have to have a pretty high rate, as with the number of restaurants in Seamless delivery range. But if the above criteria and weights speak to you, these infographics and charts will probably be pretty accurate. What do you think?
