[WATCH] See How New York City's First Kosher BBQ Restaurant Works in Crown Heights, Brooklyn

Izzy's BBQ Smokehouse is a small joint located in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, that serves up New York City's first kosher barbecue. With delicious, traditional dishes such as smoked brisket, ribs, pulled beef, alongside modern inventions like the smoked fried chicken and candied sweet potatoes, Izzy's already has quite a reputation in the NYC BBQ game, kosher or not. In this video from the excellent Eat Seeker series from Thrillist, hear from owner Sruli "Izzy" Eidelman on how he make it all work.

It wasn’t until the tender age of 26 that Sruli “Izzy” Eidelman had his first bite of BBQ. Kosher barbecue to be exact. For Izzy, it was love at first bite. He started smoking briskets in his parents' backyard in Brooklyn and amassed a knowledge that helped him open Izzy’s Brooklyn Smokehouse, the first kosher BBQ restaurant in NYC.
