The Plaza Hotel is one of the most recognizable hotels in the world for its elegance and stunning facade, but on this day in 1964, something else took the attention of New Yorkers in the neighborhood.

A frenzy of mass hysteria broke out when thousands of Beatles fans ran against traffic to the Plaza Hotel in New York City where The Beatles were staying during their first trip to New York City in 1964.

Full throttle Beatlemania took hold.
