Vintage Photograph Shows Construction of Union Square Subway Station on October 20th, 1903

Captured on October 20th, 1903, this incredible vintage photograph shows the Union Square subway station under construction.

Union Square station was built as part of the City's first major subway line, the IRT Lexington Avenue line starting at City Hall and ending on 96th Street.

Today, this platform services the uptown 6 line.
