Captured on October 1st, 1921, this great vintage photograph shows Brooklyn Borough President Edward J. Riegelmann driving the very first stake into the ground for the Coney Island Boardwalk. The world-famous boardwalk is officially named after Riegelmann, but is more commonly referred to by location.
