This great vintage film from YouTuber and film restorer Guy Jones shows guests arriving at the 1934 Motion Picture Ball, a event celebrating the relatively new industry of motion picture filmmaking. It seems like the red carpet has captivated audiences for almost a hundred years, as the first 8 minutes of the film is just an announcer who comments on gusts as they arrive to the Waldorf-Astoria hotel in Manhattan. The video gives a great look into how uipper-class New Yorkers talked, dressed, and behaved 84 years ago.
Old film of high society and movie industry folks arriving at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City for a ballroom party that took place in February 1934.
