This NYC Non-Profit Organization Helps Both Human and Animal Victims of Domestic Abuse

People and Animals Living Safely (PALS) is a unique non-profit shelter program from the Urban Resource Institute in New York City that provides a safe space for the victims of domestic abuse, both human and animal. Many shelters will force human victims away from their beloved pets, but PALS allows them to co-shelter for as long as necessary.

PALS (People and Animals Living Safely) is the only program in New York City and one of the few in the U.S. that allows domestic violence victims to co-shelter (live in shelter with their pets).

Check out the program site to learn more about the PALS shelters.
