Redditor GeorgieWashington recently created this interesting map that shows how the 8.5 million people in New York City has the same population as a GIGANTIC semi-circle encompassing 9 states in the Northern/North-West parts of the United States.
More people live in the 5 boroughs of New York (8,537,673) than live in the red & yellow semi-circle (7,650,629).
