This 53-Year Old Staten Island Ferry Will Soon Be Retired From Service

At 53-years-old, the MV John F. Kennedy ferry boat has seen a lot of action. With its wooden seats and the abundance of outside sitting area, the ferry has always been a favorite with rider. However, as the the oldest boat in the Staten Island Ferry fleet, next year will be its last. Learn more in this short video from the Staten Island Advance.

The John F. Kennedy ferry will be retiring in 2019. Commissioned in 1965 and named after the late president, the ferry is currently the oldest boat in the fleet.
