The History of The High Line in 45 Seconds

The High Line still feels like a new park, so we tend to forget it has been in the works for over 16 years, with a very different history before that as an elevated train track.

In this video from Friends of the High Line, watch as the history of the elevated park is revealed through a slideshow of vintage and modern photos in just 45 seconds.

When Friends of the High Line was founded 16 years ago, we never imagined we would someday welcome so many visitors —including more than two million New Yorkers in a single year. This achievement wouldn't have been possible without you, our community of friends and supporters, and we are deeply grateful for your support.
