Talking Poutine With Mile End Deli Chef and Owner Noah Bernamoff

Mile End Deli in NoHo is a small delicatessen on Bond St. that offers up Montreal-style Jewish meats and sandwiches, along with another favorite Montreal dish: poutine.

In this video from the Village Voice, listen to the chef/owner talk about Mile End's poutine week, and whether or not New Yorkers will ever fully embrace the Canadian delicacy.

Mile End's already known for its glorious smoked meat sandwich, but its poutine is also worth trying, especially this time of year, when it's OK to bulk up against the bitter cold and wind. "I think Americans are amazed by poutine," Bernamoff says. "I think it's one of those over-the-top indulgences that Americans tend for respond very well to."
