Sugar Hill Creamery, a Newly-Opened Family-Owned Ice Cream Shop in Harlem

Sugar Hill Creamery is a new ice cream shop in Harlem on Lenox that is the neighborhood's first mom-and-pop ice cream business to exist in the neighborhood since the early 1980s. In this video from our friends at New York Daily News, hear from co-founders Petrushka Bazin Larsen and Nick Larsen on why they opened up shop, and the neighborhood's response.

Harlem has been void of family-run ice cream parlors since 1983. This summer, husband and wife team Nicholas Larsen and Petrushka Basin Larsen changed that. Sugar Hill Creamery has opened at Lenox Avenue and 119th Street with the goal of bringing the community together through dessert.
