Americans watched with bated breath as the Apollo 11 landed on the moon just over 47 years ago. On their return, Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins, and Buzz Aldrin were greeted as national heroes. In this vintage photograph, check out the parade that the legendary space crew took through New York City on August 13th, 1969. It's an amazing glimpse back to the era of the space race. Check out this video for another view of the parade.
