Engineering and construction firm AECOM has proposed a massive waterfront redevelopment project for Brooklyn's Red Hook neighborhood.

The ambitious project envisions over 45,000 new units of housing, commercial buildings, infrastructure and a new 1 train tunnel from lower Manhattan.

If the project comes to fruition, a new residential neighborhood almost double the size of Battery Park City and several times as large as Hudson Yards on Manhattan's far West Side—the biggest development project currently underway in the city—would be created.
