Photographer Documents Book Reading Commuters on the Subway in "The Last Book"

Photographer Reinier Gerritsen has been photographing and documenting straphangers for his project The Last Book. He began the project as a way to immortalize physical books in the era of digital books through various electronic medium, but books haven't gone away just yet, and the project has transformed into a fascinating visual catalog of what commuters choose to read in public, on the Subway.

Gerritsen has turned The Last Photo project into a coffee table book of the same name, which is available on Amazon.
