PBS Newshour Covers 'Vision Zero', the City's New Traffic Safety Initiative

As we wrote about previously, the City has a new initiative
with the goal of decreasing traffic-incident related deaths to an ambitious 0 deaths per year. PBS reports that the City's plan,
Vision Zero, is based on a tried-and-tested Swedish plan with the same goal.
The plan in Sweden is implemented in a less aggressive fashion, but very successful none-the-less.

..in New York, unlike in Sweden, Vision Zero does include stepping up enforcement for instance more aggressive ticketing by Police.

Time will tell whether or not the Vision Zero initiative will meet it's goals, but with the recent reduction of the City speed limit to 25 mph,
and increased enforcement of traffic violations, the city is going all-in to make it a reality.
