NY Train Project, a Digital Recreation and Documentation of the City's Subway Tile Art

NY Train Project is an interesting collection of tile art from all of the Subway stations in Manhattan and Brooklyn, with a few of the other borough stations included as well.

The tile images featured on the site are not photographs, rather precise digital recreations of the art created by Brooklyn graphic designer Adam Chang.

About a year ago while waiting for the 6 train at the Bleecker station, I began to notice the intricate details of the carefully placed tiles in the station sign. Which led me to noticing other station signs and how they were all different, infused with the personality of the neighborhood. I decided that I wanted to share this with others by creating an online gallery of subways stations in NYC.
