New York Philharmonic Surprises in Lincoln Square With Pop-Up Holiday Concert

On December 11, 2017 the New York Philharmonic gave the gift of holiday cheer to its neighbors by presenting a free pop-up concert in Lincoln Square’s Dante Park. The Westminster Symphonic Choir performed the “Hallelujah!” chorus from Handel’s “Messiah,” under the park’s Christmas tree. Audience members enjoyed free hot chocolate and cookies. The New York Philharmonic and Westminster Symphonic Choir will perform Handel’s “Messiah,” December 12–16, conducted by Andrew Manze.
