While $8 does not sound like too much over average for a sandwich at Whole Foods, the retail giant's newest addition is sending shock waves around the City.
Chopped Cheese sandwiches are nothing new in the City. The ground beef and cheese sandwiches are found in bodegas all over The Bronx, Harlem and parts of Queens.
What is new and controversial here, is that Whole Foods and other stores like it, are accused of "Columbusing" the sandwich, that is, "discovering" the traditionally dirt cheap sandwich and selling it for double price to people who don't know any better.
