Meet Sunny Atis, the Longtime Superintendent of the Flatiron Building

The Flatiron Building opened in 1902 and is one of the most significant architectural wonders in New York City.

For the past 26 years, a man named Sunny Atis has worked at the building, being the superintendent for 17 of them.

“There’s only one Flatiron,” he said of the 22-story structure opened in 1902, one of the city’s first skyscrapers. “I’m pretty proud to take care of it.”
