Lakwena's Colorful New Kaleidescopic Mural Covers the Houston and Bowery Graffiti Wall

London-based street artist Lakwena Maciver is the latest to paint a mural on the giant Bowery Graffiti Wall on the corner of Houston and Bowery. Social Media giant Instagram partnered with the wall's owner Goldman Properties as part of a campaign to "turn city walls around the world into colorful murals, inspiring #KindComments."

Lakwena creates kaleidoscopic murals and large-scale art installations that combine language and color. “It’s really nice to be promoting and encouraging positive words that will uplift people,” she says. We’re partnering with artists from the Instagram community, like Lakwena, to turn city walls around the world into colorful murals, inspiring #KindComments. Visit a wall, take a photo or video and share #KindComments to make someone’s day.

Titled "Lift you Higher", the new mural is in the colorful kaleidoscopic, text-based street art style that Lakwena is known for.
