Decades after the last seedy adult theater shuttered in Times Square, an artist is returning an interactive XXX to the square.
Times Square Arts and J. Mayer H. will present XXX TIMES SQUARE WITH LOVE, three X-shaped outdoor loungers custom designed for Times Square, each of which can accommodate up to four people who can literally lie back, stare up and send a snapshot of either themselves of the mix of signs and sky above them.
While the naming of the exhibition recalls the seedy days of the neighborhood, German artist Juergen Mayer H. says the name was actually inspired by the "X" shape made when Broadway crosses 7th Ave.
