Coverage Map of NYC's Free Wifi Hotspots

Following this week's announcement that the City is getting 10,000 Free Hotspots, data guru Ben Wellington has created a coverage map transforming the known locations of NYC pay-phones into red dots representing the areas that should receive a strong enough signal for free wifi.

Ben has also created a neat tool that let's you look up your neighborhood's future wifi coverage percentage. Search via the "Filter by WifiCoverage" button on the top-left of the table.

You can read Ben's full analysis and data process on his blog.
