Here's How the City's New LinkNYC Free WiFi Program Works

LinkNYC has launched this month with a few hotspots that replace the aging network of public pay-phones across the City with high-speed, free and public WiFi hotspots.

Free wifi service for all of New York City? That's the goal of LinkNYC, a public-private partnership that's putting up digital wifi kiosks where old payphones used to stand. Bloomberg's Ramy Inocencio checked out one of the first locations in Midtown Manhattan.
