Wired Tests Out the Best and Worst Ways to Commute in the City

The subway has reigned king in the City for commuting for over 100 years, traveling under and over the City much faster than other modes of transportation. But does it really?

Wired wanted to find out, so they got 5 commuters to take 5 different ways from Long Island City to the Financial District, then compared them all to find the best and worst ways to commute in the City… or at least from LIC to FiDi.

What’s the best way to commute in NYC? We had five Queens residents take various modes of transportation, including Uber, a cab, the ferry, a bike, and the subway to see which one came out on top.
