Naked in Motion is an all-nude yoga and pilates class in Chelsea near Penn Station which aims to provide a save space for people to get comfortable with their own body, and get to know it in ways that provide a positive body image regardless of shape or size.
It’s about so much more than just getting naked in front of strangers. It’s an immersion in a counter-cultural social movement that challenges three important aspects of the status quo: a society that tells us our naked bodies are shameful; media imagery that says only certain kinds of bodies are beautiful; and a patriarchal culture that values whiteness, heteronormativity, and cisnormativity.
