This great black and white vintage photograph from 1955 shows a busy Times Square filled with tourists and theater goers, along with a lone woman smoking a cigarette in the foreground. The buildings in the back are along the west side of 7th Avenue between 46th and 47th Streets. Here is a Google StreetView of how that same block looks today, completely different.
