Photographer Margaret Bourke-White, former associate editor and staff photographer of Fortune magazine, captured this great aerial photograph showing a low-flying DC-4 plane over Midtown Manhattan back in 1939. You can see the Chrysler Building in the center of the photograph above the right wind, and the Daily News Building below the left wing. Also note that the 2nd and 3rd Avenue Elevated trains were still up when this photo was captured.
