Vintage Film Shows New York City Trollies and Commuters in Union Square in 1901

Check out this incredible vintage film restoration from August 8th, 1901, showing trolly arriving in Union Square, with passengers hopping on and people walking all about.

Small peek back in time to New York 114 years ago. This is at Broadway and 14th street. Naturalized the speed and added some sound ambience for flavor

The description mis-identifies the intersection -- this is actually the North-West corner of Union Square, at the intersection of 17th and Broadway. Here is a Google StreetView of approximately the same angle today. Note that several of the buildings along Broadway still exist.

The audio was added into the video for ambiance and uploaded recently by YouTuber Guy Jones, making it a lot easier to imagine yourself back in 1903.
