[VIDEO] This 1500 Square Foot Vertical Farm Lives in the Basement of a Tribeca Office Building

FarmOne is a 1,500 square foot, indoor, vertical-farm that uses hydroponics and intelligent technology to grow over 500 different types of plants, herbs, and produce for chefs in New York City. It is the only indoor hydroponic farm, and even more surprising is that they are located in the basement of a Tribeca office building. In this video from Now This, hear Founder/CEO Rob Laing talk about how and why they grow in Lower Manhattan.

This 1,500 sq. ft vertical farm grows rare, edible plants right in the heart of New York City. With a hydroponic system like this, the farmers are able to use 90% less water than a traditional farm.
