[VIDEO] As Staten Island Ferry Ridership Grows 140%, Cost Per Rider for Taxpayers Increases Too

Since its fare was eliminated in Jully 1997, the taxpayer-supported cost-per-rider of a free Staten Island Ferry trip has risen 141%, from $2.43 to $5.87 in 2016. Ridership is up as well, but only 20%. Is the remaining increase due to inflation, budgeting or something more?
