It's opening week on Governors Island and to celebrate, this week only there are free ferries running between the island and Manhattan as well as Brooklyn. Normal fare is $3 each way for adults.
In celebration of Governors Island's 2018 season, all ferries will be free opening week, between Tuesday, May 1 and Sunday, May 6! Ferries run daily from the Battery Maritime Building, located at 10 South Street in Lower Manhattan and on weekends from Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 6.
