The Verge Tours the 11,000 Piece Toy Collection of the New York Historical Society Museum & Library

Recently, reporters from The Verge took a tour of the New York Historical Society Museum & Library's 11,000 toys, part of The Jerni Collection. According to the museum, the vintage toys (1840-1960) have major historical significance.

If you want to academically understand this collection, yes they're toys, but if you're really looking at toys, you're looking at, toys are made by adults for children, so therefore they reflect adult values of the time they were made.

The New York Historical Society Museum & Library is located on 170 Central Park West on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
